JD, Exercise, Shoes & Me

JD is officially three months old now. Last month his weight was wee over 6kg, so I presume his current weight might be nearing 7kg. For an Asian 3-month old baby, JD is at his 95th percentile growth. Meaning, if left unguarded, JD will progress to become a fat baby.

Hence, most of JD's baby clothes 0-3months size are all packed and kept. He can't wear them without looking like Hulk. The buttons and seams are about to explode when he squeezed into those clothes. Even certain brands' 3-6months sizes are tight now. *sigh*

No idea what caught JD's attention here.

Seeing the difficulty of JD fitting into his 0-3 / 3-6 months clothes, I went out to source of the 6-12months clothes. Afterall, getting bigger sizes means JD can wear them for a longer period of time. Save some bit of money in the long run :) Damn, I'm such a stingy mommy!

In the end of my shopping for JD, I swiped my credit card until almost pauh-zha. A lot of his baby clothes was on offer up till 50% discount and I went gila-gila choosing the different tops for him. Winnie the Pooh / Mickey Mouse T-shirts lah. Checked shirts lah. Cartoon tops lah. Blue pyjamas lah. Bermudas lah. Shorts lah. I conquered both shops of World of Cartoons and Anakku. Left both places with hands filled with bags of baby clothes.

Total damages done was more than RM500, but to my defense, about RM200 was for his baby monitor.

JD chuckling as I was tickling him with my fingers

Suddenly I was hit with my crazy shopping mood and during the weekend, I dragged TV out to Gurney Plaza. Part of the reason because personally I wanted to shop for my own things, but the main reason is, both of us wanted to eat in Chillis. I miss the fajitas!!!!!!! *drools*

Lady Luck seems to be on my side as apparently Parkson and Nike were both having the 'moving out clearance sales'. FYI, a new wing of Gurney Plaza has been constructed and will be ready by November 2008 (in time for Christmas Sales). Some of the stores in the original wing will be re-located. So for this whole month, those shops and Parkson itself will be closed.

JD in his car seat with his new rattler toys. He was so fascinated with them!

Sales discount in Parkson is basically about 10-20% discount and limited to products which they chucked into their clearance buckets. I didn't come across to anything in Parkson that I want to claim possession. Instead, I bought my Bobbi Brown Eye Corrector Cream Light Bisque and a lipstick for mom. Both of which are intended buys.

Different story when I walked into Nike shop. TV and I chanced upon their sales clearance. The whole place was packed with people rummaging through the jerseys (not the latest of course) which was on super good discounts.

Since I was looking for a good pair of running shoes for my new drawn out regime for exercise (so that I can slim down and squeeze into my evening gown in time for TV's friend's wedding), I went right to the shoes section which was on a 10-50% discount.

Confession - I do not think this pair of Nike shoes is specially made for running. But come on, it's white!!!! So pure! So sweet! Sad part is, I can't squeeze back into previous shoe size 6. In fact, my shoe size is stubbornly residing on a size 7. For this pair which has a slightly narrower inner cut, I have to go on a size 7.5 !

One of the things post pregnancy can do to you - Increased feet size !

I got this pair for 50% discount and paid about RM165, which is a very good bargain (to me). Next, I just need to be determined to stick to my exercise regime. If I still do not slim down in one month, I have to resort in buying a cross trainer equipment from Fitness Concept. But that will be another entry altogether as this is getting to be a long one already.

All in all, it was a fruitful event for all of us. JD has an abundance of new clothes waiting to be worn. New toys to play around too. I have my Nike shoes and some new tops. TV has a new pair of pants. All of which are mostly 50% discounted items!
Such a happy day!
