However I have to admit since I became an ardent fan of makeup and factoring AGEING, my facial skin has taken a downturn drastically. Months ago I was plagued with acute acne till which I have no idea what sparked it, maybe sensitivity to hair products / skin care products, or maybe just tough luck.
So months of trying to find out what happened lead to nothing. I thought I would just stick back to my normal routine, difference is that, I paid more attention when it comes to cleansing. Since I use a combination of mild liquid make up foundation and loose powder, my pores are subjected to clogging. For liquid foundation, the mineral oil content is higher so my advice to females who use liquid foundation to carefully and thoroughly remove your makeup.
Personally I use this.
Good for people who use waterproof mascara and liquid foundation since these makeup need oil-based remover procedures. After removing the makeup thoroughly, I'll start my double-cleanse facial cleansing, or sometimes triple cleanse but of course not daily.
Clinelle is what I have been using for years. My daily regime is: Morning - Caring milk cleanser since it doesn't stripe off my natural skin oil in the morning, so it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or dehydrated. Night - after removing my make up, I'll use Deep Cleansing gel to remove off the dirt and make up remover gel from my face. Next I will use Skin smoothing scrub to cleanse off those dead skin and free up those clogged pores.
Of course, it is not advisable to scrub your face EVERYDAY because you still need time for the skin cells to differentiate and upregulate to the surface. Scrubbing too often will lead to a sensitive, red and dry skin. Hence, a word of caution to people who like to scrub their face daily with an exfoliant, no!
On nights whereby I don't intend to use scrub, I'll use Caring milk cleanser (again) and THEN only the cleansing gel. With the milk cleanser it is very ideal to do some slight massage to your skin. Not RUBBING, just soft circling movements in an upward manner.
With consistent tender loving care to your skin, I am sure the radiance will follow en suite. With all cleansing, you should pat dry the face and continue with Toning and Moisturizing.
But of course, I will leave it to the next entry.
For the time being, take the opportunity to learn about your skin, whether it's oily / dry / combination from your neighbouring pharmacy :)
